Wakefield Local Plan – The Big Picture

Spawforths are delighted to have submitted a number of representations on behalf of our clients to the Wakefield Local Plan Review. We have reviewed and coordinated representations for a large Consortium of housebuilders, developers and landowners. We have identified the level of housing and employment growth for the District and created our own suggested Spatial Strategy that the Council should take forward to be ambitious and deliver the regeneration and urban renaissance and the new infrastructure the District needs.

Wakefield Council are looking forward to 2036 and considering their development needs through the Local Plan Review. The Review provides new opportunities for owners of land and property, and also developers, to identify and demonstrate the delivery credentials of potential new sites.

The Council are preparing a draft Local Plan for consultation in 2018 and Spawforths will be closely involved in supporting this process on behalf of our clients.
