St Swithins project shortlisted for LABC Awards

Spawforths is pleased to announce that their St Swithins Housing project designed on behalf of Bridge Homes Yorkshire LLP has been shortlisted in the New Housing Site category in the LABC West Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards 2017.

The development delivers 30 detached, semi-detached and terraced units with traditional 19th / 20th century Wakefield vernacular detailing; short terraces, simple window openings, and garden boundaries defined with walls, railings and hedges. Centralised POS organises the layout, creating a focal point and meeting place at the heart of the development.

Bridge Homes LLP was established in 2013. This innovative joint venture partnership between Wakefield Metropolitan District Council and Wakefield District Housing takes a value added approach to housing delivery that balances social and commercial considerations equally, to enable them to deliver good quality private sale housing and good quality public realm along with full affordable housing requirements and a comprehensive developer contributions package. All profits raised are used to fund subsequent housing developments and in so doing enables the partnership to contribute positively to the number and quality of private sale and affordable houses in the Wakefield District.
