Redevelopment Proposals submitted for Parkside Colliery
Spawforths have submitted redevelopment proposals for the Former Parkside Colliery, Newton-le-Willows on behalf of Parkside Regeneration LLP. The proposals push forward the first phase of development to deliver 93,000 m² of B8 floorspace with associated landscaping and infrastructure.
The application is an important step forward for the redundant colliery which previously employed approximately 2,000 people at the height of production in the 1980's. The first phase boasts the ability to generate around 1,330 new jobs to serve the locality.
Spawforths led a multiple disciplinary team alongside project managers Ridge, to produce a planning submission including an Environmental Impact Assessment.
