Proposals submitted for Local Retail Centre at Heathlands

Spawforths, on behalf of Stretton Estates (Wakefield) Ltd, have prepared and submitted a full planning application for a Local Retail Centre, comprising a number of retail units, including drive-thru restaurant and food retail unit on the former Wakefield B Power Station site at Doncaster Road, Wakefield, now known as “Heathlands at City Fields”. 

This site occupies an important location on Doncaster Road and forms the  “Southern Gateway” of the wider City Fields development (formerly known as Wakefield East), Wakefield and will be accessed from the new Wakefield Eastern Relief Road which is currently under construction with completion anticipated in April 2017. The retail centre will complement the proposals approved for 334 dwellings on the adjacent plot.
