Planning Consent for 150 Homes, Denton

On behalf of our client Network Space, Spawforths has secured outline planning consent to provide 150 dwellings on the former Oldham Batteries Site, off Edward Street in Denton.

The scheme will deliver significant regeneration benefits for the area along with much needed new family homes and will bring this long term vacant site in the heart of Denton back into beneficial use.

In securing outline planning consent, Spawforths worked closely with Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and provided specialist Planning, Project Management and Community Consultation services to Network Space. Spawforths also provided strategic planning advice to Network Space and successfully obviated the need for the company to progress a pending appeal.

The site forms part of a wider Development Opportunity Area and our client has therefore developed a comprehensive masterplan for the area. This includes further residential development on land to the east, upon which Spawforths have already gained planning permission for 56 homes and a potential future retail phase fronting Ashton Road to the west.

Network Space is a commercial Real Estate Investment, Development and Management group operating across the North of England and the Midlands. They directly own and manage an investment portfolio of over 3m sqft of modern industrial and office developments across 60 locations with a combined value of over £130 million, the majority of which has been self developed.
