Local Plan Success for Parkside Colliery
Spawforths continue to promote the former Parkside Colliery in Newton-le-Willows on behalf of Parkside Regeneration. The scheme will deliver around 250,000m² of new employment floorspace and around 3,000 net additional jobs meaning £250m net additional GVA from this key strategic site.
Spawforths are lead planning consultants working with the client team to promote and deliver the site within St Helens and the Liverpool City Region. The St Helens draft Local Plan identifies the removal of Parkside Colliery from the Green Belt for regenerative employment uses. Spawforths will also be leading the team to prepare a planning application for the first phase of development to kick-start the delivery of logistics floorspace.
