Carrington Village, Former Shell Refinery, Trafford
Spawforths, on behalf of HIMOR Group, have secured planning permission to complete the first phase of its Future Carrington scheme, which includes 725 homes and 500,000 ft² of commercial space.
‘Carrington Village’ is the residential phase of development at the 1,655-acre former Shell refinery, comprising a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes. The new homes will be connected by a series of landscaped streets, footpaths and cycle ways. The approval also includes more than 30 acres of green space, including play areas.
Future Carrington also includes the relocation of Carrington Rugby Club, with a new pitch, floodlit training area and a clubhouse, which will also be available for community use. In addition, there will also be a local centre providing shops and services. Transport improvements are also planned along existing junctions with Manchester Road.
Hannah Richardson, is delighted to have secured the first phase of development on behalf of HIMOR Group. Hannah worked in partnership with Trafford Council to deliver Future Carrington which will be brought forward in phases, regenerating the former Shell site and surrounding estate, one of the largest freehold sites in the region.
