Copperfields College Leeds
Spawforths developed a series of housetypes and an urban strategy that aligned with Keyland’s Six Capitals approach. The Six Capitals seek to balance financial gains against environmental and social benefits. which prioritised the needs of people and habitat above the car.

The Proposal
The proposal sought to rethink the urban environment to integrate sustainable drainage and walkable streets into the streetscene to create more attractive places which prioritised the needs of people and habitat above the car.
The Strategy
The strategy for the site created a series of urban blocks which were used to separate public space in the street from semi- private space, inside the block.
The strategy allowed the amount of green space to be increased while the typologies supported increased density.
