Rochdale Borough Draft Local Plan Consultation
Rochdale Borough Council is preparing a new Local Plan to replace the existing Rochdale Core Strategy which was adopted in October 2016. The Draft Plan sets out how future growth and development will be planned across the borough to 2039, including provision for:
- Up to 504,641 sq m of industrial and warehousing floorspace
- Up to 70,803 sq m of office floorspace
- 616 net additional homes per annum
This consultation represents an important opportunity to help shape a vision for more prosperous, inclusive and sustainable communities across Rochdale. Maintaining an up-to-date statutory development plan is essential to ensuring the borough can plan effectively for growth and investment.
The consultation is open until 5th February 2026.
