Reminder: Scoping & Early Participation – Lancaster Local Plan Review
Lancaster City Council has launched its Scoping and Early Participation Stage as part of a full review of the Local Plan for Lancaster District. This marks the first step in shaping a new planning framework that will guide how and where the district grows in the years ahead.
The Review will revisit key issues including:
- The scale, need and location of future development.
- How the plan can protect areas of environmental, economic and social value.
- How the district can best meet the needs of residents, businesses and visitors.
Call for Sites – Still Open
The Call for Sites process also remains open, allowing landowners and interested parties to nominate land for assessment. This includes land across the district and now, for the first time, land within the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape.
Deadline: Monday 26th January 2026
Details on how to get involved are available via the Local Plan Hub.
