Investing in People: Early Careers Growth at Spawforths
Spawforths is delighted to have been ranked fourth nationally for growth in RTPI Students and Licentiate employees over the past year. In a year of significant growth for the business, early career professionals now represent around one-third of our team, highlighting both the depth of experience across the practice and our long-term commitment to nurturing talent.
This achievement is not simply a measure of growth, but a reflection of our Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) priorities. Investing in people is integral to our growth plans and we place a strong emphasis on providing structured, supportive and varied experience, enabling individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required to meet the standards of professional chartership, should that be their ambition. In doing so, we aim to create an environment where people can grow with confidence, supported by experienced colleagues and embedded within collaborative teams.
The Board would like to thank all of our recent starters for the way they have quickly immersed themselves in the Spawforths culture, embedded themselves within their respective teams, and embraced our values. We are extremely grateful for the contributions they are already making to the business, our clients, and the communities we work with.
As Spawforths continues to grow, our commitment to responsible business practices, skills development, and long-term investment in people will remain central to how we plan for the future.
This approach reflects wider trends across the sector, as highlighted in the Planning Consultancy Market Report 2025, which provides valuable insight into the evolving planning consultancy landscape and the increasing importance of talent development, organisational culture, and sustainable growth.
